Routine Creation: Evoking Emotion in the Audience Through Movement
Routine Creation: Evoking Emotion in the Audience Through Movement

The goal of this workshop is to help people to devise routines which will evoke emotion in their audiences. In this workshop, you will learn how to create personalized routines using emotions, themes or stories as a base to devise movement. We will be going over all of the components of how to build a routine which physically embodies what you want the audience to take away from your performance. This includes teaching you how to use your gestures and specific movement qualities to get your audience to subconsciously connect with your piece. We will also touch on character work, and what can be added to portray who you want to be in the piece.
This workshop utilizes specific studies and exercises taken from Dance Therapy, Neuroscience, Jungian Psychology and Methods from Stanislavski and Chekhov, to get students of all levels creating effective and gripping routines. No matter what your discipline is, what level you are at, or what emotion or story you are trying to show in your routines, this workshop promises to give you the tools you need to convey it in a touching and impactful way.
